More than 20 thousand people evacuated from Donbass and Ukraine to Russia

Moscow, SANA- Russian Defense Ministry announced friday that more than 20,000 residents of Ukraine and Donbass Republics have been evacuated to Russian territory.

“Despite all the obstacles created by the Kyiv authorities, 20,733 people, including 2,880 children, were evacuated during the past hours from dangerous areas in Ukraine and the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics to Russia”, RIA Novosti news agency quoted the Head of the Russian National Defense Monitoring Center, Mikhail Mizintsev was quoted by RIA Novosti news agency as saying on Friday.

Mizintsev noted that since the beginning of the Russian special military operation to protect Donbass, more than 1,751,289 people have been evacuated, including 281,819 children.

In another context, the ministry noted that the Russian military handed over 100 tons of humanitarian aid to civilians at the liberated posts from the formations of armed Ukrainian extremists in Kharkiv region. Food and basic supplies were handed over to families and the needy.
