Washington, SANA- The political dialogue between Russia and US has reached an unprecedented low level, Russian Ambassador in Washington, Anatoly Antonov affirmed on Wednesday.
“Russian-American political dialogue is at an unprecedented low level. Trust is undermined, cooperation is collapsing even on issues of obvious mutual interest.” RT website quoted Antonov as saying in an interview with Russian Channel One.
He added that the dialogue is “limited to the discussion of technical issues.”
According to the Russian diplomat, the US have frozen Russian embassy’s dealings with the American authorities.
“On February 25, on Washington’s initiative, the strategic dialogue was frozen for an indefinite period.” Antonov said.
He added that weapons control is no longer a priority for US administration and does not see arms control as its priority amid the Russian special military operation in Ukraine.
In the same vein, he noted that the Russian-US dialogue on cyber security has been suspended with no perspective for resumption at the moment.
