Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, received Sunday MP Mustafa Blah Sohaib, Chairman of the Mauritanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee with Syria, and the accompanying delegation.
Mikdad voiced appreciation of the Syrian-Mauritanian relations and the honorable stances of the Mauritanian people and leadership towards Syria and the unjust terrorist war it is facing.
The Minister referred to the deeply- rooted historical relations between the two countries and the importance of joint Arab action and permanent coordination in all political and parliamentary forums to serve the Arab issues.
He also noted the Syrian leadership’s interest in parliamentary diplomacy and its effective role in serving and meeting the interests of countries.
Mikdad said that all Western and regional plans to overthrow the Syrian state had failed thanks to the steadfastness of its people and the courage of its army, as well as the support of friendly and allied countries.
For his part, MP Mustafa Blah Sohaib said that the visit to Damascus is part of the support for Mauritanian-Syrian relations and highlighted the country’s continued support for Syria in confronting the terrorist war.
