Federal Supreme Council unanimously elects Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed as President of the United Arab Emirates

Abu Dhabi, SANA-The Supreme Council of the Union in the United Arab Emirates on Saturday unanimously elected Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the State.

The Emirates News Agency, WAM, reported that the council held a meeting on Saturday at the Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi with the participation of the rulers of the Emirates, where, according to Article 51 of the constitution, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was unanimously elected as the President of the State to succeed the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan .

The Council expressed its full confidence that the people of the UAE will remain, as they have always been, a faithful guardian of the Union and its achievements at all levels, while Bin Zayed expressed his appreciation for the confidence given to him by the Council.
