ALBA countries renew rejection of unilateral measures against independent states

Havana, SANA- The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) has renewed its rejection to impose unilateral coercive measures against independent sovereign states.

“Unilateral coercive measures represent an obstacle to people’s enjoyment of their rights at all levels,” ALBA-TCP Executive Secretary Sacha Llorente said in a tweet.

Llorente asserted that “every state has the right to build its own political, economic, social and cultural system away from coercive measures, threats and aggression in an environment of peace, stability, justice, democracy and respect for human rights.”

During the 20th summit of heads of state and government held at the end of 2021 in the Cuban capital, Havana, the Bolivarian Alliance called for a transparent, democratic, just and equitable international system based on pluralism and respect for the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.
