Terrorist organizations leaders plan to carry out attacks in Syria, Russian MoD warns

Moscow, SANA- The Russian Ministry of Defense has warned that leaders of terrorist organizations plan to carry out terrorist operations in Syria.

Deputy Commander of Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimim, Rear Admiral, Oleg Zhuravlev, said in a statement that the information received by the center show that leaders of terrorist organizations are planning to carry out terrorist acts targeting “employees and facilities” in Syria.

In a relevant context, Zhuravlev stressed that the activities of the US occupation forces in Syria continue to negatively affect the situation in the country, as security conditions remain critical in areas where armed militias which they support are deployed.

“The last three days have witnessed 10 terrorist attacks and subversive operations in those areas, killing 18 people and wounding 25 others,” Zhuravlev said.

On Tuesday, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service revealed Washington’s plan to instruct terrorist groups in Syria to target the Syrian army and its allies at a time when the US occupation forces continue to plunder the Syrian natural resources, as they extract and smuggle up to three million barrels of crude oil per month from the fields of Hasaka, Raqqa and Deir Ezzor provinces through the illegal crossings into northern Iraq.
