Competent authorities in Daraa thwart attempt to smuggle large quantities of narcotics-video

Daraa, SANA- The competent authorities have thwarted the smuggling of large quantities of the narcotic Captagon and hashish while they were on their way to the Jordanian border.

A source at the authorities told SANA reporter that after careful follow-up and ambushes on the border line adjacent to the Jordanian territory, an attempt to smuggle large quantities estimated at hundreds of kilograms of hashish and tens of thousands of Captagon pills that were intended to be smuggled into Jordan was thwarted.

The source added that a number of smugglers were arrested, while others fled and work is underway to arrest them and bring them before the competent court.
