Arrival of Syrian Airlines plane carrying Syrian nationals, students evacuated from India

Damascus, SANA- Syrian Airlines plane, which evacuated Syrian nationals and students stranded in India, arrived on Sunday morning at Damascus International Airport.

Commercial Department Director at the Syrian Airlines, Louai Hassan, said in a statement to SANA, that the plane, which arrived this morning from India (Delhi) carried 208 passengers on board, and it took off from India at 5:20 am local time and arrived at Damascus Airport at 7:50 am local time.

Hassan added that the evacuation process was carried out in implementation of government directives that included bringing back those stranded in India as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

During its last meeting, the governmental team concerned with measures to address the coronavirus pandemic called for taking the necessary measures to bring back Syrian citizens stranded abroad, with full care to implement public safety requirements and preventive measures.
