Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet on Tuesday approved the law of supply and internal trade which includes strict penalties and fines imposed on transgressors.
The law aims to monitor markets in an efficient manner and protect civilians’ rights in providing them with goods and services at suitable prices and good quality, taking into consideration the economic and social developments in Syria.
The Cabinet also approved a document from the Economy and Foreign Trade Ministry on extending the exempting of public sector imports from Iran from customs taxes and fees for six more months, in addition to approving the establishing of a reconstruction committee.
The Cabinet approved the licensing of mobile networks operators in Syria and converting the BOT contracts with the current two operators to licenses as of 1/1/2015.
Chairing the session, Prime Minister Wael Al-Halqi affirmed that the government is capable of adapting to the circumstances resulting from the crisis and finding solutions for urgent issues, pointing out that the administrative and economic sector will witness an upswing in 2015, particularly in the fields of petroleum products and transportation.
