Prospects of improving scientific cooperation between Syria and Yemen discussed

Damascus, SANA – Means of improving the cultural cooperation agreement signed between Syria and Yemen, particularly in technical education and scientific research, were the focus of talks between Minister of Higher Education, Mohammed Amer al-Mardini and the Charge d’Affaires at the Yemeni Embassy in Damascus, Mohammad Faraj al-Shouhobi.

Minister Mardini underlined the importance of boosting cooperation between Syrian and Yemeni universities in order to achieve progress in the development process in both countries.

In turn, al-Shouhobi expressed his country’s willingness to strengthen scientific cooperation with all Syrian universities which continue to fulfill their duties despite all circumstances, noting that there are more than 480 Yemeni students who are still studying in Syria.

He highly appreciated the steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of the conspiracy targeting their country, hoping that security and stability will be restored as soon as possible.
