Damascus, SANA- Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform affirmed that the impact of arrival of groups of desert locust to Damascus is so limited, and it could not record any impact or it could be just a passing.
Assistant Director of Prevention Department in the Ministry, Eng. Hazim al-Zailaa, said in a statement to SANA that a little groups of locusts landed over Damascus city just for rest, asserting that their impact will be so limited.
He noted that combating locust in the city will be impossible as the pesticides used by municipalities usually are useless.
Al-Zailaa noted that the locusts have reached to Quneitra, Sweida and Daraa and the control teams deal with this issue.
