Daraa, SANA- The Syrian Arab Army engineering units have thwarted an attempt to detonate a booby-trapped motorcycle parked in front of al-Sha’ab petrol station in Daraa city center, and they foiled another attempt to plant an explosive device in a car in Shamal al-Khat neighborhood, and no casualties were reported among citizens.
In statement to SANA reporter, Daraa Governorate Police Commander, General Dirar al-Dandal said that on Monday morning, army personnel suspected that a person was planting an explosive device underneath a car parked in Shamal al-Khat neighborhood and they shot him dead.
He added that the explosive device was detonated in its place due to the inability to dismantle it, without causing any injuries.
He added that at about 11: 30 am, an unknown person parked a motorcycle rigged with an explosive device that couldn’t be dismantled near a petrol station in the city center as the army engineering units detonated the explosive device in the place without causing any casualties among citizens, and only a limited material damage was reported.
