Moscow hopes US new administration would review its method towards crisis in Syria

Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Ministry slammed the current US approach towards Syria, describing it as “unconstructive “, expressing hope that the next US administration would show logic that leads to a political solution to the crisis in Syria.

“We hope the new US administration would review its approach to the crisis in Syria in order to be in line with UN Security Council resolutions,” Russia Today quoted President’s Special Envoy, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov as saying in press statement.

He pointed out to security Council Resolution No. 2254 which stipulates that Syrians themselves must lead the efforts to resolve the crisis in their country.

In a relevant context, Bogdanov voiced his hope that the administration of US President-elect Joe Biden would abandon the so-called “deal of the century,” pointing out that “it is totally unacceptable for the Palestinian side.”
