Coronavirus death toll surpasses 697,000 worldwide

Capitals, SANA- Coronavirus (COVID-19) has caused the death of more than 697,000 persons around the world since its appearance last December.

Worldometer website which follows up the development of coronavirus said that the death toll of Coronavirus around the world has reached up to 697,244 while the total number of Coronavirus cases reached up to 18,447,723  and the recoveries amounted to 11,680,369.

In Germany, data from the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases showed an increase in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases by 879 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 211,281  while  eight deaths of the virus have been recorded bringing the death toll to 9156.

In France, the Ministry of Health announced that it has registered 3,376 new cases of coronavirus over the past three days, adding that the number of people under treatment in intensive care units has risen, while the total number of cases in France so far has reached 191,295 and deaths have reached up to 30,294.

In turn, the National Health Commission of China announced that it had received reports of 36 confirmed new cases of coronavirus in the Chinese mainland.

In Colombia, the Ministry of Health said that the total number of confirmed cases of the virus has risen to 327,850 after , 10,199 new infections in the past 24 hours, while 367 people have passed away as the death toll amounted to 11,017.
