Director of Damascus Hospital: No Coronavirus cases registered, two suspected cases test results negative

Damascus, SANA – The Director of Damascus Hospital Dr. Samer Khedr reiterated that no Coronavirus cases have been registered at the hospital, adding any such case would be announced immediately because it is in no one’s interest to cover up any Coronavirus cases as it is an epidemic disease.

Commenting on rumors circulated by some media outlets and social media pages regarding the existence of two Coronavirus cases in Damascus Hospital, Khedr clarified in a statement to SANA’s reporter that two Syrian men were admitted to the hospital two days ago, and they had been suffering from high temperature and thoracic pain after having had contact with a friend who had arrived from Iran recently, as they said.

He said that the two men underwent thorough medical examinations including the tests for diagnosing the Coronavirus, and the results were negative, adding that the two patients were suffering from pneumonia and they received the necessary treatment, and one of them was discharged after recovering while the other is still receiving treatment at the hospital.
