WHO dismisses an Israeli occupation draft to cancel an item about health situation in Golan

Geneva, SANA- Executive Board of world Health Organization (WHO) rejected on Friday a draft submitted by the Israeli occupation to cancel an item titled “the Health situation in the occupied Palestinian lands, including East Quds and the occupied Syrian Golan” from the agenda of upcoming round of World Health Assembly.

The draft failed to get the majority of votes after 15 countries rejected it, while only 7 states supported.

Meanwhile, Syria’s permanent representative to the UN in Geneva, Hussam al-Din Ala, condemned the Israeli occupation continued rejection of HWO to assume its authority in inspecting the health situation of Syrian citizens in the occupied Syrian Golan.

Ala, in a speech to the 147th round of the Health council, called for dispatching a field mission, without any restriction or condition by the occupation, to evaluate the situation and clarify the obstacles which prevent the Syrian citizens, living under occupation, from getting the fit health care.

Ala stressed that the evaluation should observe the health and environmental damages resulted from the Israeli occupation decision to set up air Turbines to generate the power in the farms of the Syrian citizens in Golan.
