Syrian-Iranian talks on cooperation in educational field

Damascus, SANA-The session of talks, co-chaired by Education Minister Imad al-Azab and Iranian Minister of Education Mohsen Haji Mirzaei, on Wednesday focused on means of developing cooperation between Syria and Iran in the educational field, particularly rehabilitating schools, printing books and developing and supporting the vocational and technical education.

During the talks, Minister al-Azab indicated that the visit of the Iranian delegation came in the framework of following up and completing the exchange of expertise and knowledge between the two countries.

Al-Azab also asserted that the two sides agreed on the outlines to sing agreements and memos of understanding which include the best means to develop the educational and learning methods through exchanging expertise and visits between the two countries.

For his part, Mirzaei expressed his country’s readiness to provide all possible support to Syria in the field of writing and developing books, training the teachers, and to participate in rehabilitating schools and supporting education in its various branches.
He hailed the importance of the visit in exchanging views, expertise and ideas in serving the interests of the two peoples.

Following the talks, the Iranian delegation attended the activities of a workshop on STEEM Curriculum for the basic and secondary education stages organized by the Syrian National Center for Curricula Development.

STEEM Curricula will contribute to integrating knowledge necessary for rebuilding of Syria, ensuring human cadres qualified for achieving sustainable development and upgrading education, al-Azab said.

Mirzaei, in turn, stressed the importance of training courses in rehabilitating the teaching staff, expressing his country’s readiness to enhance joint cooperation in this regard.
