Aleppo Governor, WFP representative discuss humanitarian situation in Aleppo

Aleppo, SANA – Aleppo’s Governor Mohammad Marwan Alabi on Sunday discussed with Representative of the World Food Program (WFP) in Syria Matthew Hollingworth the situation of humanitarian work and cooperation in the field of aiding citizens affected by terrorism in the province.

Alabi stressed the important role of the international humanitarian organizations, including the WFP, in providing aid to the families affected by terrorism.

He said the humanitarian work in Aleppo is a collective work that all sides are participating in, expressing the governorate’s readiness to provide all support and facilitations to the humanitarian organizations as to enable them carry out their mission.

For his part, Hollingworth said the organization has provided relief to nearly 750 thousand persons in Aleppo so far, adding that the WFP will soon carry out a program to encourage students to continue their education.
