Health minister calls on international organizations to help Syrian health sector

Damascus, SANA-Health Minister Dr. Nizar Yazigi called on the international humanitarian organizations to help the Syrian health sector amid a stifling economic embargo imposed on Syria.

The minister’s comments came during his meeting with Resident Representative of the the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) mission in Syria Tarek al-Kurdi.

The minister affirmed that the health ministry is keen to provide health services to citizens in all areas and provinces in coordination with civil societies and international organizations.

Al-Kurdi pointed to the organization’s interest in sustaining its support for humanitarian organizations and offering all necessary assistance to them in coordination with the Syrian ministry of health.
