Beirut, SANA – Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Party Hassan Nasrallah said that the “United States is using terrorists of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) as scarecrow to frighten, blackmail and exhaust the countries in the region as prelude to impose its hegemony on them, especially in Syria and Iraq.”

During an annual meeting with scholars and preachers on the eve of the holy month of Muharram, Nasrallah stressed that the conflict is neither on Syria nor for toppling its leadership, but for remapping the region as a whole.

Hezbollah leader slammed the war which the international alliance is waging against the ISIS terrorists, describing its as a process to draw red lines to prevent this organization from approaching Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

Nasrallah reiterated that Hezbollah’s fighting in Syria is for protecting Lebanon.
