Damascus, SANA – The Health Ministry will launch on Sunday the National Vaccination Days campaign, which will last until April 30th, targeting all children under the age of five via health centers, medical points, and mobile teams.
Over 8,000 health sector workers distributed among 911 health centers, 71 medical points, and 714 mobile teams spread across the country will provide vaccinations as part of this campaign.
The Health Ministry affirmed that the vaccines provided in this campaign are effective, safe, and subjected to strict quality control, and are provided free of charge, adding that common sicknesses like the flu, diarrhea, and mild rises in temperature, as well as using medicine like antibiotics, do not prevent children from taking vaccines.
The campaign targets around 2.79 million children under the ages of five, with the aim of raising the coverage of the national vaccination program to 90% on the national level.
