Damascus Countryside, SANA – Syrian Arab Army units expanded their control over the surroundings of Douma city as part of the military operation for liberating Eastern Ghouta from terrorism.
A military source told SANA that during the past few hours, army units targeted with artillery fire, rockets, and airstrikes on gatherings and fortified positions of “Jaish al-Islam” terrorists in al-Rihan town in Eastern Ghouta, after which infantry units and tanks advanced and clashed with the terrorists, most of which were killed while the rest fled towards Douma and to its west.
The source said the operation also led to establishing control over the main road between Ibn Sina Hospital and Douma city, which was a vital supply and movement route for terrorists.
