Syrian Ballet students qualify for final stage of Belarusian Talent Competition

Minsk, SANA- Two groups of the Syrian Ballet School qualified for the final stage of the Belarusian Musical Talent Competition in the Children’s Winter Camp in Minsk.

The competition is held in the Belarusian Capital with the participation of children of cultural, musical, artistic and sports’ institutions from around the world.

“Despite the modest possibilities and difficulties imposed by the terrorist war on Syria, especially in the field of music and dance, we have children of high will. The Syrian children are ambitious and can match the other children participating in these competitions from different countries,” Head of Musical and Ballet Institutes Mohamed Zaghloul said.

He added that the Ballet School, which is affiliated to the Directorate of Musical and Ballet Institutes in the Ministry of Culture, has participated with three performances in the competition and two of them have been qualified.

Some 170 Syrian youths, aged between 13 and 18 years old, are participating in the Camp which is held at the National Children’s Educational Health-Improving Center (Zubrenok) in Belarus.

The activities of the Camp include a varied program aimed at enhancing the physical and mental development of children through various school activities in addition to visits to historical sites, sports and cultural facilities as well as joint activities and competitions held with children of Belarus in the fields of physics, chemistry, mathematics, robotics, musical arts, ballet and a number of different sports activities.
