Moscow, SANA-Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed during a phone call with his US counterpart Rex Tillerson that only the Syrian people have the right to decide their country’s future.
The two sides discussed the settlement of the crisis in Syria, including the operations in the northern areas, the preparations for the Vienna talks and the Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi, according to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.
The situation on the Korean Peninsula was also discussed during the telephone conversation.
Lavrov, Cavusoglu discuss preparations for Syrian National Dialogue Congress
In the same context, Lavrov discussed with Turkish regime’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Syrian National Dialogue Congress in the Russian city of Sochi, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.
The Ministry added that in a phone conversation, the two ministers agreed “to take additional joint steps to ensure success of the giving event”.
The Syrian National Dialogue Congress is due to take place on January 29-30, 2018.
