Damascus, SANA- Syria has condemned in the strongest terms the US veto against UN draft resolution on the status of al-Quds (Jerusalem).
An official source at Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said Tuesday the US stance stresses, once again, that Washington is paying no heed to the International law and flagrantly violates resolutions of the UN Security Council and all international circles on the legal status of al-Quds.
The US, through such stances, ignores the international legitimacy and its resolutions as it used to do repeatedly towards various issues which affect the international peace and security, and contributes to creating tension in our world with the aim of imposing its hegemony and arrogance, the source affirmed.
The source stressed the need, more than ever, for the formation of a new global system to put an end to the US successive administrations’ reckless policies.
Vetoing the draft resolution on al-Quds, the US stresses its unwavering support to the racist Zionist entity and its hostility to the Arab nation, the source went on to say, calling upon the Arab ruling regimes, subjugated to the American policies, to correct their polices and adopt stances which fulfill the aspirations of their peoples, match the supreme interests of the Arab nation and maintain the rights and sanctities and to stop being tools for the implementation of the policies that cause heavy damage to the pan-Arab national security and existence.
