Situation of middle class in Syria discussed in workshop

Damascus, SANA- Participants in the workshop on current situation of the middle class in Syria discussed enhancing the developmental role of this class, rebuilding capabilities of the Syrian people and benefiting from potentials of this class in improving the quality of life in reconstruction stage.

The workshop was organized by Damascus Center for Research and Studies (MADAD), with participation of a number of researchers and specialists.

The participants pointed out that concentration on the private sector caused imbalance in the development process and wealth distribution, asserting that effect of the current crisis on the middle class and expansion of the poor class led to the decline and deterioration of this class, mainly due to the economic measures.
