Moscow, SANA – the Russian President’s Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov affirmed that there’s no alternative to a political solution to the crisis in Syria, based on UN Security Council resolution No. 2254.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Bogdanov discussed during a meeting with the US Ambassador in Moscow Jon Huntsman the situation in Syria with stress laid on the need to continue intra-Syrian talks.
Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister underlined the importance of Astana meeting to hold comprehensive dialogue in Geneva under the supervision of the United Nations.
The two sides highlighted the two countries’ continuous efforts to further enhance cooperation to maintain de-escalation zones in Syria.
