Damascus, SANA – Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hamoudeh Sabbagh stressed the importance of developing Syrian-Chinese relations in all political, economic, and cultural fields, hoping that China will play an active role in the reconstruction stage in Syria.
Meeting the Chinese Ambassador in Damascus Qi Qianjin on Sunday, Sabbagh called for boosting the work of the Syrian-Chinese Friendship Association at the People’s Assembly and increasing the exchange of visits by parliamentary delegations to serve the interests of the two countries.
For his part, Qianjin said that the victories achieved by Syria on all levels, particularly in fighting terrorism, contribute to enhancing peace and stability in the world, hoping that Syria will achieve final victory over terrorism.
The Ambassador said that terrorists are the enemies of the entire world, and that Syria and China stand together against colonialism, occupation, and foreign interference, adding that China’s position on resolving the crisis in Syria peacefully is clear to everyone.
He affirmed that China will continue providing political, economic, and humanitarian support for the Syrian people, stressing the importance of developing cooperation among China, Russia, and Iran to help the Syrian people.
Qianjin also stressed the need to boost economic cooperation between the two countries, particularly during the reconstruction stage.
