Syria, Iran discuss enhancing economic relations

Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister Imad Khamis met on Tuesday the Advisor to the First Vice President of Iran, head of the Committee for Development of Iranian-Syrian Economic Relations Saeed Ohadi and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed enhancing the economic relations between the two countries and means of upgrading them in various fields. They also reviewed the distinguished results of the Damascus International Fair at different levels and the active participation of Iran from the public and private sectors as well as the necessary steps to enhance trade exchange between the two countries and the role of businessmen in this aspect.

Khamis expressed his appreciation for Iran’s support for Syria in various fields and welcomed the economic presence of Iran at Damascus International Fair, indicating the increasing interest of the Iranians in pushing forward the economic relations and building a solid base for these relations.

For his part, Ohadi affirmed Iran’s keenness to participate in various economic activities in Syria, referring to the wide participation of various countries in the exhibition, which forms a basic step in the recovery of the Syrian economy and the expansion of cooperation between Syria and the countries participating in the exhibition in all economic sectors.
