Damascus Governor: Settlement agreement in Barzeh neighborhood completed

Damascus, SANA – Damascus Governor Bishr al-Sabban said on Monday that the settlement agreement in Barzeh neighborhood for clearing it of all armed manifestations has been completed in a step towards the return of state institutions to it.

The governor said in statement to journalists that the implementation of the last stage of the settlement agreement in Barzeh neighborhood has been completed on Monday , which involved the evacuation of 1,012 persons, including 455 militants, who refused the settlement agreement.

The implementation of the agreement was accomplished in 20 days during which all the militants and some of their families that refused the agreement left towards the northern countryside.

On May 15th, Syrian Arab Army units, in cooperation with the supporting forces, restored security and stability to Qaboun area and the surrounding farms located next to Barzeh area after a series of special operation that inflicted heavy losses upon Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and the affiliated groups.
