Syrian teams ranked 1st in three competitions at the ARC3 in Beirut

Damascus, SANA – The Syrian teams participating in the third Annual Robotics Competition (ARC3) achieved the first ranks in three of the competitions within the tournament that was held in Beirut last Saturday.

In a statement to SANA, Head of the Syrian Computer Society (SCS) Dr. Moheeb al-Naqari said that more than 650 participants representing 107 teams from more than 70 Arab educational institutions participated in the six competitions of the tournament which are: WRO Football for primary category, Line Race for preparatory category, Open Sumo for secondary category, SUMO University and Project Challenge for secondary and university categories.

He pointed out that the Syrian teams participated in three competitions and won the first place in them, adding that the Dar al-Rahma Team won the competition of Open Sumo for secondary category.

He added that four Syrian teams participated in the competition of the Project Challenge for university category and the first place was won by NASA Team of the Higher Institute for Applied Sciences and Technology, while the SCS Team was ranked second and Damascus University Team was ranked third. Tartous University Team came in the fourth place.

In the Line Race for University category, the SCS Team came in the second place, and it was the only Syrian team that competed in this category.

The Syrian referee Dr. Ibrahim Shuaib participated in the tournament in the Project Challenge, while the Syrian engineering Rama Shaaban ruled in the arbitration design and programming in the Line Race competition.
